Dr Mark Ashworth about the doctors attitude .. need for open mind where knowledge is lacking
Chris Moore (Managing Director of Nordic Laboratories) - underreporting, need for a new screening for borrelia infection
Dr Michael Wetzler - a GP can not give IV antibiotics to patients who might benefit, just because the current NICE guideline forbids ..
Dr Chris Newton (biochemist) - said as no test is 100% reliable for all borrelia, doctors should be able to order line immunoblot and PCR for detection ..
Dr. Newton presented new data from Dr. Alan MacDonald (personally absent) about Fluorescent In-situ Hybridization (FISH) using Molecular Beacons - highly template-specific fluorescent DNA and RNA probes. These showed the presence of borrelial material within Lyme patients.
Dr Beryl Beynon (Director of Well-One clinic in Beverley) - on providing medical care for patients which the NHS refuse to treat - many GP are afraid to treat with antibiotics ..
